With over 9 million inhabitants, Tokyo is one of the biggest cities in the world. The Japanese capital is modern but also very traditional at the same time. Impressive, glistening sky scrapers like the 634 metre high TV tower 'Tokyo Skytree' tower over the historical parts of town like ‘Kagurazaka’, where there are traditional wooden houses to look at and you find people praying in the quiet temples. Our familiar language school lies directly in the centre of town, just a few minutes walk from the main station ‘Shinjuku’ and numerous restaurants, bars and shops. Here you can find designer shops and enjoy tasty sushi or ramen noodles in bars like ‘Numazukou Sushi’. The well kept ‘Shinjuku Gyoen’ garden is just 10 minutes away by foot. You can quickly reach the port and the famous fish market or reach the historical sights in ‘Asakusa’. The night life district ‘Shibuya’ or the shopping paradise ‘Shinjuku’ are easily reachable. The city becomes even more exciting at night: dancing in clubs and bars and singing karaoke and enjoying a drink whilst looking at the glistening view in 'Sky Bars’ of luxury hotels.

During your first day at school, you will be assigned to the suitable level class according to your language knowledge. This guarantees an excellent and successful learning. After classes, you will have plenty of time to explore the city and its surroundings. Our LISA! language school offers several organised activities during the week and our friendly school team will surely give you good tips and suggestions on the city’s highlights. They will also recommend you the best places where to do shopping, to have a coffee and to party with friends. You can also explore the city on your own. You will surely find fellow-travellers wishing to join you during your tours. The best way to improve your knowledge of a foreign language is getting in touch with the local people. Therefore, we suggest that you take every opportunity to practice your knowledge with mother-tongue speakers. The accommodation in a host family is perfect for testing every day what you have just learned.  Shopping and going out also offers the opportunity to speak Japanese.

We will happily book you a low cost flight to Tokyo. We recommend that you use public transport to get to your accommodation, but never go by taxi (expensive!). We can also happily book you transfer from the airport. The transfer from the airport is by train, accompanied by an employee of the language school. Please note that an organised transfer for accommodation with a guest family will not be possible between 21.00 and 06.00.
